Review 8/04/2007 Accusound Silver Pro 10' cable.
In a world were cables are cables and no matter how you color the ends or what hip name you give them again, a cable is a cable, is a cable. Until now, finally a cable company has put the time and expense into building a cable with innovation at the forefront putting the needs of the discerning ear ahead of the bottom line. Accusound Cable Company is that company.
A few weeks ago a package of cables were delivered to AMG headquarters right out of the box the cables look professional and made well. My curiosity quickly moved past the good looks and right to the task of plugging the cables into a full stack for a test drive. The results were immediately clear, as in tone clear and rich. Pinch harmonics lasted longer, dive bombs no longer broke up and when distorted full bluntal tonal mastery was achieved. I ended up changing the settings on my 100 watt all tube amp slightly because I was able to hear more detail and dial in the amp a little finer. This was a watershed moment for me as I looked around at the dozen or so other cables lying on the floor like old cars in a bone yard. I know I could never go back now that I have had the Accusound experience.
The difference is made possible partly due to the premium components but the science behind the cable also plays an important role in the cables ability to transfer a signal quicker and with more strength at the transfer points. The harmonic details are the most telling proof in the cables superior performance. Tone chasers finally have something to chase that will not leave them eating tag soup. If your tone hunt is important to you then Accusound Cables are truly a trophy worth the effort. My advice is to not just buy the main guitar cable; I found that using the guitar cable alone did not help my rig. By experimenting with other cables I noticed that when using a complete set up of Accusound Cables i.e. two cabinet cables and the guitar cable I achieved tonal mainstream accountability. When I swapped out the cabinet cables with brand new lower cost cables the harmonics were not as strong and still broke up. My conclusion after doing just the reverse is still the same. It is in my opinion a requirement to use a system of Accusound cables through out your entire rig. So a switch out may cost a little but again if you are a tone chaser this is the ultimate stock.
There are certainly good cables out on the market that come close to matching the Accusound cable but all fall shy or reproducing the exact effect. The tangle free aspect is also very welcoming and without a doubt the Accusound cables are the most tangle free cables I have ever tested. All of this is matched by the company’s extremely professional customer service. Top off this cake of tonal goodness with a made in the USA tag and you have a recipe for success.
